We believe investing in artificial grass for your backyard is an excellent decision!
Forget spending your Sunday evenings mowing, spraying pesticides and weeding in the heat, just to keep your natural lawn looking well maintained. Instead, use that time to enjoy swimming at the beach, drinking a cold beer, spending time with your nearest and dearest, or on the couch engrossed in an epic Netflix show. The choice is yours!
To keep your artificial grass looking its best, there are a few things we recommend doing and a few things well, we don’t. So, here are our do’s and don’ts when it comes to artificial grass.
DON’T Install it yourself
Yes, some people do prefer to install their artificial grass themselves, however, we recommend you leave it to the professionals. This will ensure that it is installed correctly, so it lasts and lasts and lasts! The Luxe Turf Team provides a professional and experienced consultation to allow for a hassle-free, Gold Coast artificial grass installation.
We will ensure that the smallest lawn to the largest is installed to the highest standard, with customer satisfaction at the top of our list. All of our installation work is fully insured throughout the process, completed on time and within budget.
DO get it for your beloved pet
Despite what many people think, artificial turf can actually be BETTER for your dog.
Natural grass harbours fertilisers, insects and ticks that can harm the well-being of your pet. Dogs are often found gallivanting around a backyard, sniffing, licking and even sometimes eating grass which can make them seriously unwell.
Artificial turf on the other hand is a safe, clean alternative that is great for your dog! Your dog can spend all day running around your yard without the risk of consuming toxic chemicals or contracting fleas. We believe artificial turf is the better alternative when it comes to having pets.
Not to mention, you won’t have to deal with muddy paws and large holes in your backyard – now that is a win.
DON’T walk over your newly installed turf straight after installation
It is not recommended that you walk on your artificial turf straight after installation. Give it 24 hours or more after it is first laid so that the grass has time to settle properly. Walking on the grass before this can cause the seams to come loose or cause tears and other abrasions to your newly installed grass.
DO install if you want more time
There are a million things to do that are better than mowing, weeding or fertilising your lawn.
We understand life is busy, between working, spending time with your family and all the other menial tasks that have to be completed. Removing a task from your life will free up a lot of time for other exciting things! Maybe you can use that time to take up a hobby, start that side hustle or just relax. Whatever it is, fake turf is the answer to getting rid of mowing for good!
DON’T push sharp objects into the turf
Artificial turf is incredibly durable and can take a fair amount of traffic, unlike natural grass. However, it isn’t recommended to push sharp objects into its surface as this will only tear and ruin its appearance.
DO install if you have allergies
Pollen, dust and other debris from natural grass circulate in the air, often affecting people with sensitivities and allergies to these particles. If going into your backyard makes you sneeze and gives you watery eyes, there is a way to reduce these symptoms and that is by installing artificial turf which is great for allergies!
Here are some of the benefits artificial turf has for your allergies.
Reduced allergy symptoms, meaning less medications to take.
Free from lead and heavy metals.
No toxicity.
Hypoallergenic solutions for kids and pets.
No need for lawn maintenance (no water, mowing, or trimming).
No need for pesticides or fertilisers.
